Centre du Silence

Le Centre du Silence Mime School, was founded in 1971 in Boulder, Colorado by Samuel Avital, to provide a sane and harmonious learning environment, free of dogma, judgment and negative competition. The work is based on total honesty, belief in the integrity and creativity of the individual, and the idea that artistic perfection is possible. The training involves the effective activation of the complete potential of the student.

The purpose is to elevate the essence of performing arts above the rampant mediocrity of the field today and to surpass the normal means of communication offered by the entertainment industry, and society’s abuse of the spoken word. The main goal is to educate the students and perpetuate the Art of Silence – MIME and Movement Theatre in the USA and the world at large
