EscenaFísica, International School of Contemporary Mimodrama & Body Theater is founded by Ricardo Gaete in Santiago de Chile, after an 8-year training in international schools with teachers worldwide, acquiring a body vision of theater in England, France, Italy and Argentina , All disciples of Etienne Decroux (1898-1991), a French artist considered to be one of the most influential Western masters in the theater of the second half of the twentieth century, who claimed the actor’s body as a matter of creation. EscenaFísica offers training that fuses guidelines, physical, aesthetic and scenic added to the subjects inherited from the Argentinean maestro Elizondo, developing the expressive and communicative possibilities in the corporeal vocal, which generates the integration of the theatrical design generated from the work of the actor.
Escena-Física, is the first school in Latin America devoted to the transmission of the roots of the work of Etienne Decroux. The school offers students a training centered on the actor’s body on stage, allowing them to become an integral stage artist.
The school opened its doors on April 4, 2011, as a new alternative within the existing theatrical formation, visualizing a new generation of performing artists who seek to transform their bodies into creation by projecting the horizon of an “Other Scenic Art”.
