Les Bubb
Pantomime
Les Bubb started performing at the National Youth Theatre and then at the Desmond Jones school of mime in London , and in Paris with Phillipe Gaulier (Le Coq) and Etienne Decroux.
He quickly became popular with his unique blend of mime and metaphysical clowning , joining the “new wave” of alternative comedy with contemporaries Ben Elton , Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, Lenny Henry and Harry Enfield, supporting them LIVE in theatres across the UK , and at the same time taking the TV show “Friday Live” by storm.
From 1997 to 2002 Les starred in and co-wrote the young peoples’ series “HUBUBB” for BBC1, making his distinctive surreal humour popular to a whole new generation.
