MIMESIS – Since 1977, IVT –
International Visual Theater has been a space for exchange, encounter and discovery for the deaf and the hearing. It is dedicated to artistic, linguistic and pedagogical research on sign language and the visual and physical arts. It is both a theater, a training center and a publishing house.
Located in the historic premises of the former Théâtre du Grand Guignol, located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, IVT is today a unique place in France. It is a shared working tool, dedicated to the creation and dissemination of a multidisciplinary theater, bilingual, visual and corporeal, linguistic and pedagogical research around sign language. Language and culture are intimately linked.
