Planète MiMe

Who are we?

Planète MiMe is a network of artists from all over the world. Their common point: having Marcel Marceau as their teacher, notably at the International School of Mimodrama in Paris.

These artists in nearly 50 countries are
Directors of operas, theater, choreographers, directors
Companies, actors, dancers, acrobats, jugglers,
Puppeteers, clowns and … mimes.

They worked with Marcel Marceau and other mime teachers, including:
Etienne Decroux, Maximilien Decroux, Ella Jaroszevicz, Jacques Lecoq,
Claire Heggen and Yves Marc, Ivan Bacciocchi, Stefan Niedzialkowski, etc.

And were trained at various schools: dance, drama, puppets, Commedia dell’Arte, theater fencing, circus arts, etc.

The need for such a structure arose at the time of the disappearance of Marcel Marceau, on 26 September 2007.

Planète MiMe was founded in March 2008 at the invitation of artists from the Marcel Marceau international school in Paris.

Planète MiMe aims to make visible the exceptional international art network they constitute.

Planète MiMe is a structure open to pluridisciplinarity, respecting the artistic evolution of each one.

Planète MiMe welcomes and enhances the activities of all mime and gesture artists.

Planète MiMe is also intended to encourage meetings between artists and educators and other structures of the arts of gesture and mime.

Planète MiMe is listed as a “network for mime and gesture” by the Mime and Gesture Arts Liaison Group set up by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
